Fields

To work with input fields via MS Word connect the Doc.one add-in and open the template in Microsoft Word.

Add field

To add a field:
  1. click in the text where you want to add the input field.

  2. Open the Doc.one Tab in the toolbar.

  3. Click the Show add-in panel button in the top menu. The * Doc.one add-in * panel appears to the right of the document.

  4. Click the Add field button.

  5. Select the field type from the Type drop-down list:

    • Text - field for entering text

    • Number - a field for entering a numerical value

    • Date - a field for entering a numeric value in the date format

    • Selection - a field with a choice of a value from the list.

  6. If the field is required, select True from the Required drop-down list.

  7. In the Title field, enter a title for the field.

  8. Add a text description (hint) to the field to help you fill out the field in your document. To do this, enter the text of the note in the Hint field.

  9. Click the Add field button to save the changes.

To view a list of all input fields added to the template:
  1. Open the Doc.one Tab in the toolbar.

  2. Click the Show add-in panel button in the top menu. The Doc.one add-in panel appears to the right of the document.

  3. Click the Fields button.

Edit field

To change a field:
  1. Click the Fields button in the sidebar.

  2. A list of template fields is displayed. Select a field from the list and hover over it.

  3. Click the Menu button and select Edit.

  4. The input field options appear in the sidebar. Change the parameters and press the Save button to save.

  5. As a result, the field parameters will be changed.

How to add a template field multiple times

The add-in allows you to add the same field to a template multiple times.

To re-add a field to the template:
  1. Click in the text of the template where you want to add the field.

  2. Click the Fields button in the sidebar.

  3. Select a field from the list and hover over it.

  4. Click the Menu button and select Add to text.

  5. The field will be added to the template at the position where the cursor was positioned.

All uses of a field in a template are linked. If you change a field in one place, it will change across the entire template.

Reusing a field in a template

Remove field

To remove an input field:
  1. Click the Fields button in the sidebar.

  2. A list of fields added to the template appears. Select a field from the list and hover over it.

  3. Click the Menu button and select Delete.

The field will be removed in the list and in the template text.

You can also delete a field by positioning the cursor before or after the field in the text and pressing the Delete or Backspace key, respectively. In this case, only the given use of the field in the text will be removed (that is, the field will not be removed from the list).
